In part Inner View is a way of demonstrably showing us how to be utterly present with another, and to experience an extraordinary connection firsthand.
An early step in the way I use to help people to realize that this is an innate capacity, is to have each participant sit with me for a minute or two with no-thing as the instruction.
Each subject is broadcast to a large screen in realtime, and those in the room are found by the experience of the subject. Which is the missed possibility of most relationships.
I have decided to release a collection of these accidental short portraits.
It occurred to me that between us exists the most extraordinary possibility of a meditative experience. As Russell indicated in the video below. Perhaps this Collection will become a resource you may use as such. As I add more I shall refine the instructions.
Know this, “… that what you seek is seeking you”.
Watch these slowly. In sufficient space. Full screen. Headphones. Do not attempt if distracted.
Come with nothing. Come for nothing. Start with nothing. No-thing. No pre-defined reason for watching. No sense of betterment for having watched. No act on your part. And let the experience find you. Let your imagination wander. Wonder.
As I gaze into the world,
I realize that nothing
falters in its ability
to reflect what
I’ve come here to see.
My challenge remains
to what it is
that I’ve seen.
The Person I Met Today Cannot Be Unseen
Yesterday a piece of music found me on the wind. Its experience made its way deep into my bones.
I didn’t work it out. I didn’t act upon it. I did nothing with, or to it. It was the other way around. I let the experience of this hallowed music find me. And I’m certain that this experience will remain with me. I’m certain that this piece of music cannot be unheard.
Today I met a person. Their experience found me and made its way deep into my bones.
I didn’t work them out. I didn’t act upon them. I did nothing with, or to them. It was the other way around. I let the hallowed experience of this person find me. And I’m certain that this experience will remain with me. I’m certain that the person I met today cannot be unseen.
