FILM | ‘ENGAGED’ | CONNIE YOWELL (OTHER FILMS BELOW)
“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the women and men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.” Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Might curiosity have always sat at the heart of an extraordinary education? If so, how on earth might our children develop a burning need to know? This short film examines the possibility for curiosity and engaged students, and is part of the Connected Learning Series. I got to make a series of six films to help tell the essence of their story.
Connie is the Director of Education at the renowned and courageous MacArthur Foundation.
The MacArthur Foundation backed the Digital and Media Learning Hub (University of California Humanities Research Institute) to re-imagine the experience of education and schooling. In the last 5 years they have spent close to $100 million in research. Connected Learning is the outcome.
